Deer(venison) does not have much if any fat, but is very very tasty...If you are lucky enough to get some here is a great meal....
Buy at the store good quality smoked thick cut bacon and wooden tooth picks
At home slice the venison into strips 1"x 1"x say 3-6 inches long.
wrap the bacon around the strips and tooth pick at either end at home and bag for the trip...keep cool
In camp fry up the bacon wraped strips till done, fighting off the others who brought canned chilli.
Plate up with a fav veggi and you are eating now....
works with any wild meat and even buffalo which you can find in safeway....

| Did this the other night camping:
At the store buy Brats, 1 can potatos, 1 onion, button mushrooms, good mustard
Make sure you have good alum. foil on hand.
Rip off 3 sheets alum foil, add the brats(5), half of onion, cut potatos, and mushrooms and wrap them in the triple wrap...
Set in the coals and cover for 20 mins.
I use tongs, but however pull the package out of the coals and plate it up.
Add the mustard of choice and you have a meal and left overs for later...
Dont forget your cold beer of choice
