Does anyone in the Portland area have a Disco compatable, hitch mounted bike rack I could buy or borrow for the next two weeks?  We are going to SunRiver for a few days, and I'm tired of the production invovled in trying get all four bikes in, or on top of the car.  If I still had an SD rack, it would be different....

Anyway, I'm interested in buying one, but I'm not sure I can find one on Craig's List before the end of the week.  We'll probably be in town till Sunday afternoon, then head over the mountains.

Thanks!

Unfortunately this is only good for two: craiglist Thule T2 . TheKuats seem to be getting good reviews as well. And finally, if you're real serious there are the1UPUSA racks. Somehow, I think you are looking for something a bit more, er, low cost.

A

I can lend you one, but I think it only accomodates 2 bikes.

Yeah, I don't want to spend too much money because, well they are overpriced at retail, and I'm not sure if I REALLY want one yet. I just know I've tried other options.

Todd, if I don't find one before then, would you be around on Saturday afternoon?

I'll be camping but can leave it outside for you and leave directions.

 I'm in Lake Oswego.

You're extremely frightening.

BUT!

I may take you up on that offer -- which way are you headed for camping? If you have an empty hitch, you could put it on and I could meet you some place if that's easier for you. Besides, I might go klepto on all your cool Rover stuff if you let me wander around your house unguarded. ;)

I'll let you know. Thanks... uh... Todd... er...

I'm headed to the Coast range.  If I change plans and go east it would be towards Bend.

If I'm missing any sporting gear, Rover stuff, or lacy undergarments I'll be looking for you Ben!

Ben, I lied to you...  It is a 4 bike carrier.  I just dug it out of storage.   It tilts down, not to the side, but still workable.

Cool, that's the one I want, so it would be really great of you to let me borrow it for the week! I'll PM you on Thursday or Friday.

See! This is what I'm dealing with, this is the type of stuff you run into when just trying to find a bike rack!

LINK

I feel much more comfortable borrowing one from a normal guy like Todd before making the decision to buy.
