| Hey All, I am hell bent on doing the Steens Mtn trip again this year. I know many are planning their vacations right now so let me know what weeks you may be available in late June or July. This year I want to keep it a week long trip possibly venturing into the Owyhees. Pics from our last adventure can be found here: Arghhh.... Craig, how do I link to an actual trip rather than the general gallery? http://northwestoverlandsociety.org/Photos/TripsandActivities/tabid/208/Default.aspx Click 2008, next page, then steens trip. |

| one vote for late June!
I am going to hold a spot for Craig, Danno, Andy, Scott's, Brent, Brad, and Kevan. If they tell me they cannot come, I will open them up. Peter Carey has expressed interest as well.
This will be a 10 truck sign up event hoping for 7 trucks actually coming max. |

| If I can afford it, I'm in. After missing the last one over what turned out to be a bad u-joint (argh) I would really like to head down there. My truck has just about had a frame off rebuild done to it at this point, so it should be up to snuff mechanically. lol.
I have no idea how to link to an album directly. It's always baffled me.
Thanks Todd!

| We might be in that area round about the same time too. If you need any help planning for the Owyhees, let me know. I know a friendly overlander in Ontario with a big truck and a flat bed trailer too:) |

What are the minimum requirements for truck equipment for the trip?
Tow points and a spirit of adventure. 5-10 extra gallons of fuel, 5 gallons of water, food for yourself, and a truck that will get you home. Just be comfortable with not having a defined route and knowledge of where we will be every night prior to what we decide at the moment. You'll be fine Ben! |

| Todd I am in for sure if you pick June. If you pick July I could maybe still go but time is tight. Count me in most likely then too if its not the last week of July. I could probly adjust July stuff too if we pick dates sooner than later.
Plus I have never run that area before and would love to explore it. I have been there and backpacked it about 15 years ago. Great to go back and cover some real ground. |

| It's not the wandering I'm worried about, I'll wander you any day! it's the radio equipment I might have to buy, and the fact that I don't have recovery points in front.
I'll talk to the wife about it -- kid friendly?
I'm scared to say, "Yes." Because I've actually had plans for the Alvord three different times only to have to cancel at the last minute; and the time I wanted to go with you guys just wasn't ever going to work.
I'm all shaky and weepy just thinking about it... must... get back to... homework.... stay off Google Earth......... |

| I'll have a CB by then, but no Ham. That may come next year.
July would be best for me.
I'm going to work on convincing my wife.
I'm going to go do the trip vicariously through Google Earth now -- I'll be dreaming for the next few hours. |
