ok, so somewhere on the whipsaw trail in canuckistan, i lost my cruise control.  the button on the dash works fine but i can't engage it.  i did a visual and the mechanism *appears* to be intact and all vacuum hoses connected.  but, to be honest, i have no idea what i'm looking for/at   any ideas?

i have considered the buttons on the wheel aren't working but the radio controls work fine, fwiw.  i appreciate any help in advance; it's really hard to hold the pedal down, you know?

I fixed my cruise control once... the vacuum hose was disconnected from the cruise control unit, easyv fix. Then it stopped working again! So I thought, "the hose" but it was still connected and after spending some time looking at the other hose connections, fuses, etc. I got frustrated and gave up for a few months. Then I was checking out the hoses again for some reason and the same hose that had originally been disconnected was actually split on the underside where I never would have been able to see it if I hadn't pulled off the hose to investigate; kinda made me feel dumb for not checking the hoses better. So, I'd suggest checking all of the related hoses very carefully. Good Luck

Andy,

If all your hoses are ok. I can give you some some electrical checks to perform if your comfortable using a test light, and doing some minor disassembly. Just let me know, how the rest looks first.
